Theodore Gentile, age 77, of Broadalbin, NY passed away on March 8, 2026 surrounded by his loving family. He was born February 4, 1949 in Amsterdam, the son of late Theodore and Anna Gentile.  

A lifelong resident, Ted was employed for New York State Department of labor and Tax & Finance for more than 30 years of service.   

On July 25, 1980 Ted married the love of his life, Mary. They enjoyed 45 wonderful years together prior to Mary’s passing filled with cruises, summers at their pool, playing video games and spending time with their family. He will be missed by all who loved their “Uncle Ted.”  

Ted is survived by his siblings AnnaMarie DiCaprio and James (Joan) Gentile, several nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, a great grandniece and great grandnephew whom he loved dearly and his faithful companion Noodle.   

He was predeceased by his loving wife, Mary Gentile and sister Angelina Donaldson.   

The family will receive relatives and friends from 4 PM to 7 PM on Thursday, March 19, 2026 at Betz, Rossi, Bellinger & Stewart Family Funeral Home 171 Guy Park Avenue, Amsterdam. A mass of Christian Burial will take place at 11 AM on Friday, March 20, 2026 at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church 39 St John Street, Amsterdam. Interment will follow at St. Michael the Archangel Cemetery, where Ted will be laid to rest beside his beloved Mary.  

To honor Ted’s love for Mary and their animals, Memorial contributions may be made in lieu of flowers to the James A. Brennan Memorial Humane Society, the Saratoga County Animal Shelter, or the American Cancer Society.
