Brenton “Brent” Thomas Gebo passed away unexpectedly on October 12, 2021. He was 76. Born May 24, 1945, he lived in Cokato, Minnesota until his teen years, when he moved with his parents to Plainview, Texas. There, he met his future bride, Cheryl Stimson. He studied at Texas Tech University, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in Business Marketing. Brent married Cheryl in December of 1967 and enlisted in the Navy the next year. He served 4 years and during that time, their first child, Nicole Denise Gebo, was born. Upon leaving the Navy, Brent began working for the family company as Vice President. Whitney Michelle Gebo was born into their family a couple of years later. Brent took the reins of the family company, Gebo Distributing Co., Inc. when his father died. Brent was an active man and spent his free time playing golf, fishing, hunting, and snow and water skiing. He relaxed by reading and by playing video games. He was a patient, loving, and fun father and husband. Brent was a generous, funny, and kind man and considered everyone a friend. He survived a massive stroke at 53 years old. At that time, his role in the company changed and the reins of the company passed down to his son-in-law and daughter, Mike and Nikki McCarthy. Following the route of rehab and family, Brent and Cheryl moved to Boise Idaho, where he lived out the rest of his life with his wife. Brent is survived by his wife, Cheryl Gebo, his daughters Nikki McCarthy (husband, Mike McCarthy) and Whitney Bade (husband, Ben Bade), grandchildren Kaleb and Thatcher Churchwell, Joel and Caleb Bade, and Isaiah Young, sister-in-law, Marsha Boston, and niece, Stefany Mahoney (husband, Shaun Mahoney). He is preceded in death by his parents H.M. and Evelyn Gebo. A private memorial for family was held in Boise, Idaho.
