Paul Howard Ruby, our beloved father, grandfather, and friend passed away after a brief and courageous battle with cancer in Glendale, AZ on December 6th, 2018, just eight days shy of his birthday, at the age of 63. Paul was born on December 14th, 1954, the youngest of Howard and Patricia Ruby's two children. He is survived by his two daughters, Taylor and Madison, his son in-law Jared, his granddaughter Vija Antoinette, and numerous cousins and their children. He was preceded in his death by both of his parents and his sister Claudia. Born and raised in Arizona, Paul graduated from Saguaro High School in Scottsdale and attended Arizona State University, where he graduated with a BA in Journalism and Mass Communication. Paul was a loyal and fiercely devoted friend, maintaining lifelong friendships beginning with co-workers from his first job at Best Western to his final job as a school bus driver for the Deer Valley Unified School District. He even remained close with a number of former in-laws from his two past marriages. Paul was a voracious reader and took great pleasure in being outdoors. Hiking, camping, and fishing were among his favorite hobbies - experiences he bonded over with most of his friends and family. He was also a deft Scrabble opponent with a dry and witty sense of humor. Cremation has already taken place, and a memorial service will be held at 10am on Thursday December 13th at Regency Mortuary in Sun City, AZ. Service Details.
