Barbara Greene Piechowicz passed away on October 12, 2017, after a long and courageous battle with Ovarian Cancer. Barbara was best known as a hard worker and selfless individual who would do anything for her family. A Christmas baby, born on December 25, 1952 in Pittsburgh, PA, Barbara prided herself on raising three wonderful children as a single mother. After dedicating most of her life to her children, Barbara married Thomas Piechowicz in 2013. In 2014, after 25 years in the healthcare industry, she retired from Gateway Health Plan and moved with Thomas to Myrtle Beach, SC to enjoy their retirement. It wasn't long after moving to Myrtle Beach, Barbara was diagnosed with Ovarian Cancer. Barbara and Thomas moved back to Pittsburgh, PA before eventually moving to Phoenix, AZ to be nearer to her family and treatment team. Throughout her battle, Barbara fought many obstacles, facing each one with both faith and grace. Her willpower, strength, and generosity will be remembered, but more than that, Barbara's unwavering love and commitment to her family will live on in the memories of family and friends alike. Barbara is survived by her husband Thomas Piechowicz, three children Bryan (Karie), Kelly (Sam) and Brandon, as well as five grandchildren Logan, Colin, Alex, Brinley, and Emersyn.
