Annie Corta Davis, beloved mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend, passed away on Thursday, April 25, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. She was 96.
A spirited and resilient woman Annie was born Annie Krzesnik on June 16, 1927, in Homedale, Idaho to parents John and Anna Krzesnik. She attended school in Homedale, Idaho and married Benacio (Ben) Corta on June 24, 1944, at Saint Paul’s Catholic Church in Nampa, Idaho. Annie and Ben moved to Jordan Valley, Oregon where they made their home and had five children – Jim, Sherry, Cynthia, Steve, and Larry. Ben passed away in 1967. Annie and her children moved to Homedale in the Summer of 1967. Annie married Gene Davis in 1972, he passed away in 2013.
Annie was an avid sports fan and a devoted proud spectator at her children and grandchildren’s athletic games. She expressed her creativity through ceramics, loved catching up with friends over coffee, and enjoyed sitting outside on her patio watching the birds.
In addition to her five children – Jim Corta and wife Carole, Sherry Dines and husband Rich, Cynthia Frazier and husband Steve, Steve Corta, and Larry Corta and wife Margie - Annie is mourned and survived by nine grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, and many close friends. She is preceded into death by her parents, husbands, her brother Johnny, sister Pauline, sister Mary, and two grandsons – Doug Corta and Ryan Dines.
The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses, and staff at Owyhee Health and Rehabilitation in Homedale for the comfort and care they provided for Annie.
A rosary recital will be held on May 1st at 7:00 pm at Flahiff Funeral Chapel, 27 E Owyhee Ave. in Homedale.
The funeral mass will be celebrated on May 2nd at 10:00 am at Our Lady of the Valley Catholic Church, 1122 W Linden St. in Caldwell. Lunch will be served immediately after mass at the Basque Center, 333 S Main St. in Homedale. Interment will take place after lunch at 3:00 pm at the Jordan Valley Cemetery.
Annie lived a long and full life and will be dearly missed by her family and friends.
