Dixie Spence Francis passed away on Sunday, Sept. 18, 2022, in San Diego, California, at the age of 76. Dixie was born on May 28, 1946 to Clifford and Phyllis Spence in Logan, Utah. She grew up in Wellsville, Utah and graduated from South Cache High School in 1964. She was sealed to her sweetheart, Paul Francis in the Logan, Utah Temple on December 17, 1965. Paul and Dixie then moved to San Diego, California in 1968 where they raised their family of six beautiful children. Dixie had a very happy childhood and she loved reminiscing and telling stories of the fun things she did with her siblings, many cousins, and friends. Anyone who knew her would say she was the kindest, most generous person. She was so warm and welcoming to all and loved unconditionally. She loved to give the most beautiful greeting cards that she carefully picked out just for you. She loved to read, sing, crochet, and paint. She enjoyed board games and was a ruthless “Sorry” player. But nothing made Dixie happier than spending time with her family. Dixie held many church callings throughout her life. She served in the stake Relief Society Presidency, ward Relief Society, and Primary. She was a faithful visiting teacher, ward choir member and a devout temple worker for over 20 years. She loved the gospel of Jesus Christ with all her heart and she would show her love for the Savior through her many acts of love and service. She is survived by her husband Paul, her children – KayLynne Still (James), Kevin Francis, Carl Francis (Amber), Carolyn DeLaMare (James), Kimberly Durette (Matthew), her brother Stanley, 13 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, a brother, and her dear daughter Katherine. She will be missed by all who knew her. A memorial service will be held Friday, Oct. 7, 2022 at 11:00 AM at the Point Loma Ward of The Church of Jesus Christ of Later Day Saints - 3705 Tennyson St. San Diego, CA 92107.
