Gale Wayne Hurni Born in Indiana on 4/14/1938 to Harry Dale and Vera Hurni. Gale went on to eternal paradise on Wednesday, 3/22/2023 to join his family members that preceded him. He lived in San Diego County for 63 years and worked as a licensed land surveyor up until a few months ago. He had two passions in life, his work, and sports. He was involved in many different sports as he evolved through life, but his love would always be for the game of basketball. He was still actively riding his bike 2-3 times a week at the beach, taking his dogs to the dog park most days, and being an avid puzzler. Gale was married 3 times with his first marriage to Tillie in 1961. They shared two daughters, Amber, age 61, and Amy, age 58, four granddaughters, and four great-grandchildren. His second marriage was to Clarice who preceded him in death. He was currently married to his now widow, Rosemary, for almost 20 years of their 30 years together with four stepsons; Jayson, Michael Tim, and Brian, and two step-grands. As the Patriarch of the Hurni family, he was loved by many nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews, known on the East Coast as Uncle Wayne and on the West Coast as Uncle Gale. He lived a full life and if you knew him well enough, you knew that rules were lost to Gale as well as having many catchphrases that he was known to reply to within the conversation. Gale will be missed by many for his spice of life and spicy character. Rest in Paradise, Gale, until our paths meet again
