Zulema Barrera Guerra was born August 19, 1933 and she passed away on Sept. 3, 2023 in Vail, AZ. She married Alfred Guerra and raised eight children. She is now in Heaven with her husband Alfred and her two sons; Alvaro Rodriguez and Alfred Guerra Jr. Zulema is survived by her children: Amelia Pennix(Gregg), Carmen Fuentes, Louise Santiago(Ruben), Monica Gaxiola(Raymond), Bernie Guerra(Kim), Carolyn Garcia(Raul); 16 grandchildren; 22 1/2 great grandchildren and 6 1/2 great great grandchildren. Our mom loved all her children and grandchildren. She said we were her best friends. Our mom was kind and giving and if you were hungry she would feed anyone. Our mom was known for her big and delicious tortillas. Our mom helped raise our kids. She babysat them and walked them to school. Our mom loved to shop and go to the swap meet. Mom always had a smile on her face. She made everyone laugh and loved to dance. She will be truly missed by all. WE LOVE YOU MOM! A visitation will be held on Monday, September 18th from 4-7pm at Legacy Funeral and Cremation Care Chapel. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, September 19th at 10am at St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church, 7710 El Cajon Blvd, La Mesa, CA 91942. Burial will follow at 1:15pm at Miramar National Cemetery.
