It is with great sadness that the family of Sally Turner announces her passing. Sally lived a full and vibrant life touching many lives.
Sally Jane Turner (Phillips) age 85, passed on May 1, 2024 in Caldwell, ID.
She was born on June 29, 1938 in Wellington, CO daughter to Claude Potts and Chrystal Richardson. Granddaughter of Valla and Frances Richardson (Jack Phillips). Sally was raised by Chrystal and Jim Phillips in Homedale, ID.
Sally married Maurice Turner in Winnemucca, NV on May 19, 1956.
While growing up primarily in Homedale, as an only child, Sally was an inquisitive, busy young girl who was always looking to try new things, learn new things, and meet new people. She loved to spend most of her time with Billy Phillips looking for ways to get into mischief. Sally attended school in Homedale. One day after high-school graduation, at the age of 17, Maurice and Sally drove to Winnemucca to get married and begin their life as husband and wife. They began their marriage in Washington, eventually, landing in San Diego, CA where they raised four daughters.
Sally stayed busy at home raising her girls until the youngest started school, and then launched her career in Cosmetology and went on to own both her own salon, and beauty supply store for many years until retirement. Sally was a woman of all trades, and an entrepreneur. She was an artist that loved to sew, crochet, knit, cook, cake decorating, and quilt, just to mention a few. But being the best Nana, was her #1 joy. After, 40 years in San Diego, Maurice and Sally retired to their hometown of Homedale, where she enjoyed reconnecting with her group of childhood friends, including Sylvia, Darlene, Helen, Sharon, and Linda.
Sally is survived by her beloved husband Maurice Turner of Homedale, sister-in-law (Donna Sewell) and brother-in-law (Dwayne Turner), with multiple nephews and nieces. Surviving daughters Dana McQuien (Tony), and Julie Turner-Harvey (Oliver-deceased). 14 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-grandson.
Services will be held at a future date.
