Petra S. Soto, 78 passed away peacefully on Monday, May 6, 2024 after a long illness at the Owyhee Rehabilitation Center in Homedale, Idaho. She was surrounded by her family. Petra was born April 14, 1946, in Munday Texas. She is the daughter of the late Carlos and Cesaria Silvaz. Petra loved sewing, canning fruits, vegetables, and had a love of planting flowers. She also enjoyed her Spanish music and attending Spanish dances. This is where she met and eventually married her life partner, Ruben Soto of more than 40 years. Throughout their time together they were inseparable. She is survived by her husband Ruben Soto, five daughters, Linda (husband Uliverio) Chavez of Caldwell Idaho, Cristina (husband Noe) Villarreal of Bremerton Washington, Alicia (husband Jeff) Binford of Houston Texas, Leticia (husband Saul) Jimenez of Belfair Washington, Adriana (husband Matt) Cagan of Seattle Washington. Two sons, Roy (wife Jeni) Medina of Nampa Idaho, and Mario Quezada of Homedale Idaho, along with 37 grandchildren, 36 great grandchildren and 6 siblings and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her two sons Rogelio Medina Jr. and Roque Medina, along with many loved ones. A viewing will be held on Monday, May 13th from 9:00-10:00 am at Flahiff Funeral Chapel, 27 E Owyhee Ave. in Homedale, Idaho 83628. Funeral service to follow at 10:00am, and burial at the Marsing-Homedale Cemetery. Following the burial, a reception will be held at the Homedale Senior Citizens Center at 224 W. Idaho Ave., Homedale, Idaho 83628.
