January 10th, 1947 - June 7th, 2009
Douglas "Doug" Locke (62) of Warren, Maine, died of complications associated to his battle with brain cancer on June 6, 2009 at the H. Lee Moffitt Cancer Research Center in Tampa, Florida. Born on January 10, 1947 in Ayer, Massachusetts, Doug was one of four sons of the late Dorothy and Robert W. Locke, Sr. Doug was predeceased by his wife Marjorie and older brother Robert Jr., and is survived by sons, Dana Gary, Douglas Locke, Jr.; daughters, Amy and Judy Locke; step-son, Christopher McDonald; brothers, Phillip Locke, Stephen Locke (Ann, Stephen, Jr., Jennifer), along with six grandchildren. Doug was former owner/operator of D.C. Locke Trucking in Land O Lakes, Florida. As a former member of the U.S. Navy Seabees "Can Do") Doug was a proud member/officer of the American Legion and the Masonic Lodge. The Locke family wishes to thank the many friends and caregivers that kept Doug going after Marjorie's death and his tough battle with cancer. Special thanks to: Laura & Nick Demaria, Bill & Bernadette Demmons and family, John Burns, Dr. Louis Coyle, Dr. Karen Backman, Dr. Andrew Felderman and the "wonderful" nurses from Kno-Wal-Lin Home Health Care Service. You all are "very special" people. At Doug's request, in lieu of flowers, please make donations to the American Cancer Society.
