Rosalia Pauline Covey Montgomery, 94 of Vienna, WV and St. Petersburg, FL, died April 13, 2011 at her daughter's home in St. Petersburg, FL. Rosalia was born October 21, 1916 in Belpre, Ohio on her parent's (Omar and Mary Covey) farm. She enjoyed telling stories of her early life, such as the horse buggy rides to the schoolhouse, how life had changed since her early years - and how some things are so much easier now - from having electricity in her home and listening to radio shows, then the progression to television, to the ease of doing laundry with an electric washer and dryer. She liked to share early stories about Parkersburg and Belpre including working at the Wilmar Restaurant, walking across the Belpre Bridge to be met by her father with the horse and buggy to travel to and fro. At a Saturday night dance, she met H. Clay Montgomery and they were married in May 1939, in Belpre, OH and celebrated 62 years together. She enjoyed working at Neale School in Vienna, WV where she did something she loved - cooking and socializing with her work friends. Holiday celebrations and family get together were not complete without her homemade rolls, noodles, and pies. She enjoyed her winter retirement home in St. Petersburg, FL, especially the year-round gardening, growing beautiful roses, playing domino's, and even helping the beginners to score in fives. She greeted each day with a smile and a great attitude - believing that we have the power to create our happiness each day right here on earth. She was a life-long member of St. John's Methodist Church in Vienna, WV and Faith Assembly in St. Petersburg, FL. Rosalia is survived by her daughters, Maxine (Fleet) Argabrite, Mary Ellen (Bob) Wilson, Sandra Cagle Montgomery , and son Larry (Judy) Montgomery, her four grandchildren, Vicki (Wilson) Mueller; John Hansche, Susan Hansche, and Julie Amos, her ten great-grandchildren and six-great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry "Clay" Montgomery, a home builder in Vienna and Parkersburg, WV and her two beloved sisters, Katherine Campbell and Glendora Nichols Toothman.
