Dr. Richard Kirk Suttell, loving and devoted father, passed away peacefully in his home on Sunday, April 19th 2015 in St. Petersburg, FL after ending his battle with lung cancer. He was 67. Kirk was born on March 28, 1948 in Niagara Falls, New York to his parents Richard and Annette Suttell. He attended St. Petersburg High School and graduated from Spring Hill College in Mobile, AL with a Bachelor's in Science in 1970. He went on to Emory University in Atlanta, GA where he received his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree in 1975 specializing in Fixed Prosthodontics. He married Arlene "Bunny" Suttell in 1983 here in St. Petersburg and practiced Cosmetic and Restorative Dentistry in downtown St. Pete for 33 years. He was an active member of Alpha Delta Gama at Spring Hill College and served as an officer in the United States Army for 10 years. He was a member of The American Dental Association, American College of Prosthodontics, Academy for Sports Dentistry, Florida Cleft Palate Association and received recognition as one of Florida's Top Dentists by Tampa Bay Magazine. He was an avid collector, sharing his passion of antique boat restoration and guitar music with all of his close family and friends. He is survived by his four children, Alexandra Baird, Lauren Ullo, Nicholas Suttell, and Marissa Suttell as well as his two grandsons, James and Christopher Baird. He is preceeded in death by his wife, Arlene "Bunny" Suttell. Kirk will be honored at Anderson McQueen Funeral Home, 2201 Dr. MLK St N, St Petersburg, FL 33704, on April 24th from 5-7 pm followed by a catholic funeral mass at St. Raphael's Catholic Church, 1376 Snell Isle Blvd NE, St Petersburg, FL 33704, on Saturday, April 25th at 10 am. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Kirk's life. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations to be made to Suncoast Hospice Foundation.
