Allan, Nell M., of St. Petersburg, died Wednesday, July 19, 2006 at home. She came here in the 1930?s from her native Plains, Georgia. She was a registered nurse for many years and enjoyed her hobbies of golf and Orchid fancier. Nell won the Lakewood Country Club women?s championship many times and even partnered with Patty Berg for a 9 Hole exhibition Scotch foursome and St. Petersburg Open. She had been an accredited judge of the Orchid Society and traveled world wide for shows and exhibits. She is survived by two sons, Harry Allan, Ft. Myers, FL and Fred Allan, St. Petersburg; four grandchildren: Harry T. of Tennessee, James M. of Seminole, Christine Shelton of St. Petersburg and Richard W. of Georgia and eight great-grandchildren.
