West, Eleanor Elizabeth, 81, of St. Petersburg, died Saturday, March 14, 2009, at Edward White Hospital. Born in Bogalusa, LA, she came here in 1954 from New Orleans. She attended Louisiana State University. She was an Episcopalian and a founding member of St. Matthews Episcopal Church. She was a long-time member of Lakewood Country Club. She enjoyed playing golf, tennis and traveling with her husband. She was preceded in death by Husband - Dr. James Lee West Jr. She is survived by Son - James Lee West, III and wife Carolyn, Mobile, AL: daughter -Terry West Cobb and husband Bill Watkinsville, GA; Son - Paul Slocomb West and wife Kathy, Baton Rouge, LA; Son - David Lloyd West and wife Carole, St. Petersburg, FL; 8 grandchildren - Andrew, Laura, Michael, Sarah, Lee, Allison, David, and Sydney. A Memorial Service will be held at 2pm on Friday, March 20, 2009 at St. Peter's Episcopal Cathedral. In lieu of flowers, family asks memorial donations be made to St. Matthews Episcopal Church.
