JONASSON, Carl H. Sr. , 85, of St. Petersburg, passed away peacefully on May 22, 2016, in the comfort of his home surrounded by his loving wife and children. Born in Arlington, MA, to Eric and Esther Jonasson. He moved to Florida in 1973 and became Owner/President of Johnnie Jones Plumbing Co. He loved playing golf, RV traveling, and woodworking which became a family craft business. He collected and restored antique cars. Carl was also a collector of Linsey matchbox.
 
He was predeceased by his parents and his four sisters Hedwig, Evelyn, Elsa, and Esther. Carl is also predeceased by his daughter Carol Castagnino. 
 
He is survived by his beloved wife Eleanor; his children, Mary O'Connor (dec. Robert), Esther O'Connell (David), Carl Jonasson Jr. (Marie), Barbara Pace, Eric Jonasson (Linda), Helen Gauvey (Richard); his grandchildren, Kimberly Myers (Scott), Jennifer Caccavaro (Dave), Robert O'Connor (Mandy), Sean O'Connor (Amanda), Christine Harrington (dec. Richard), David O'Connell (Grace), Danielle DiDomenico (Peter), Bryan Jonasson (Ashley), Travis Jonasson (Lynne), Lisa Castagnino, Laura Pace, Eric B Jonasson, Richard Gauvey Jr. , Nicole Gauvey, Allison Gauvey; his great-grandchildren, Jake, Alyssa, Jason, and Brady Caccavaro; Colin, Matthew and Riley O'Connor; Ivan, Haley, Payton, and Madison O'Connor; Ben, Grace, and Sara Harrington; Lily and Riley O'Connell; Jack, Samuel, Emelia, and Luca DiDomenico; Tyler and Dylan Jonasson; Ayden Gross; Bryant and Jon Connor Castagnino; Hayden and Hazel Jonasson. 
 
Visiting hours on Wednesday, May 25th, from 4pm to 8pm at Anderson-McQueen, 2201 Dr. MLK St. N, St. Petersburg. A funeral mass will be celebrated on Thursday, May 26th, at 10am, at St. Paul's Catholic Church, 1800 12th Street North. 
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations be made to the Alzheimer's Association,14010 Roosevelt Blvd, Suite 709, Clearwater, FL 33762.
