Michael Todd Clark
July 2nd, 1968 - July 17th, 2011
Mike Clark, born July 2, 1968 to Doug and Ginny Clark, passed away peacefully at his home on July 17, 2011. Mike grew up in Olympia, Washington, and graduated from Olympia High School in 1986. Mike met his former wife Kristie while they worked as teenagers at the Lacey Kentucky Fried Chicken. As Kristie tells it, Mike was mopping the floor of the cooler and she slipped while carrying the container of hot gravy. This encounter later produced two sons, Tyler and Cody; he also had a stepson, Ian Howard. Mike was a devoted father and his children meant the world to him. Mike was very proud of his boys and what they have become. Mike took annual hunting trips with his sons to Curlew, teaching them how to hunt and sharing his love of the outdoors. Mike lived in Olympia until 1999 when he then moved to the Shelton area to try country living and raising livestock. While living in Shelton, Mike and his sons enjoyed riding their quads, fishing and working around the property. As his sons got older and lived in Olympia, he wanted to be closer to them and his family so he moved back. Mike worked for MASCO contractors for over 20 years and was a dedicated and loyal employee. Mike loved his job and took great pride in his work. He had numerous friends at work and enjoyed his job. His manager will remember Mike by his great laughter, smile and diligence. In addition to hunting, fishing and camping, Mike enjoyed traveling to Mexico, cooking, re-finishing furniture and most of all spending time with family. Mike had three brothers, Dean Clark, Jason Clark (Leanne) and Doug Harms (Eva). He had one sister, Kelly Mcpherson (Kenny - also like a brother), along with several nieces and nephews, Jessica, Chelsea, Brittney, Cassidy, Connor, Tanner and Brailynn, all of whom he adored. He never missed a birthday and always brought light and laughter into the room. Mike was a very caring and kind man who loved spending time with his family. He was a devoted father, son, brother, friend, and was full of life. Mike's laugh and witty humor could bring smiles to anyone he ever met. He was a people person and enjoyed working with all of his co-workers, learning new things and trying new cuisine. He had a huge heart of gold, and would do anything for a loved one. He is very loved and will be greatly missed by all who were privileged to have met him. Mike was preceded in death by his father, Douglas Clark in 2004. His mother, Ginny, resides in Olympia. His passing leaves a hole in all our hearts, but we now have another angel to watch over us. A memorial fund has been set up for Mike's children at Boeing Credit Union under Michael Clark Memorial Fund, Account # 3587866078.
