Mary Jane Tunison Mary Jane Tunison, 82, a 50 year resident of Centralia, died October 26, 2008. She was born May 6, 1926 in Canby, Oregon. Her parents were Harold Sr. and Mary (Tryon) Walters. She attended Wasco County Schools in Oregon. On September 26, 1942, in Goldendale, WA, Mary Jane married Warren Cecil Tunison. He preceded her in death on July 2, 1999. Mary Jane worked as a nurse’s aide at nursing homes in Centralia. She loved being a mom and really loved being grandma and great grandma. She enjoyed plants and flowers, reading, cooking, and sewing. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (on June 22, 2008 she was baptized at the age of 82!). Mary Jane is survived by daughters, Pam Ashby (Gary) of Tacoma and Barbara Hawks (Vernon) of Centralia; sisters, Wanda Anderson (Virgil) of Pine Grove, OR and Bobbi Whitecotton (Jim) of Dufur, OR; daughter-in-law, Sandy of Olympia; 13 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. Including her husband, Warren, Mary Jane was preceded in death by her son, Rik; brother, Harold Walters, Jr. in December of 2002; grandson, Colby Hawks in 1986; and her parents. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 1, 2008 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 2801 Mt. Vista, Centralia WA 98531.
