Cary Lee Jones
April 6th, 1943 - July 15th, 2020
Cary Lee Jones, April 6, 1943 to July 15, 2020 Cary Lee Jones left us unexpectedly in Tacoma, WA on July 15, 2020 at the age of 77. Cary is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Betty, his two children Deanne and Scott, and his grandchildren, Nathan and Ryan. Cary is preceded in death by his mother, Mavis, his father, Thomas, and his brothers, Lane and Thomas (Tucker). Cary was born on April 6, 1943 to Mavis and Thomas Jones, of Puyallup, WA. Cary lived most of his life in Puyallup, WA and was a second-generation graduate of Puyallup High School. After high school, Cary served as a Private in the US Army during the Vietnam war. He married Betty Bloyd on June 28, 1968. After 5 years of marriage, the couple welcomed Deanne, then Scott to their home. Cary was a loving father, always supportive and accepting of Deanne and Scott as children and as adults. Cary worked as a heavy equipment operator in the electrical industry until his retirement in 1994. After retirement, he spent his time fishing, golfing, and traveling with Betty, but mostly puttering around his home in Puyallup. Cary was a kind and generous person who people were drawn to. He could always make them laugh with his dry sense of humor and his incessant humming. He will be kindly remembered and dearly missed by all who knew him. A private ceremony will be held at Tahoma National Cemetery and a memorial will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Cary’s honor to the Wounded Warrior Project at www.support.woundedwarriorproject.org. The family invites you to share your memories of Cary at: www.klontzfuneralhome.com.
