Lorraine "Lori" Marie Flemm

Lorraine Marie “Lori” Flemm, 60, passed away September 8, 2016 in Olympia, WA. She was born November 13, 1955 to Joseph Jerome Albert and Elaine Anne (Palicki) Albert in Jackson, MI. An Olympian resident for 31 years, Lori also lived in Kansas City, MO (1981-1984, Columbia, MD (1978-1981), Canton, OH (1967-1978), and briefly in Schenectady, NY and Springfield, IL. Lori attended Glenoak High School (1969-1973), Miami University (1973-1975), and Ohio State University (1975-1978) where she earned a BS in Landscape Architecture. She married John B. Flemm on June 17, 1978 in Canton, OH. Lori was the City of Lacey, Director of Parks and Recreation (6/2009 – 5/2016); City of Kent, Superintendent of Parks/Planning (1/1997 – 6/2009); Metro Parks of Tacoma, Planning and Development Manager (8/1991 – 1/1997); Interagency Committee for Outdoor Recreation (9/1985 – 8/1991), and Jackson County Parks, Landscape Architect (5/1981 – 1/1985). She was a member of Lacey Rotary (Membership Chair), Oly Samba Washington, Olympia Outboard Club, Book Club, and the Washington Recreation and Parks Association. Lori was known as a very loving, caring, kind, inspirational and motivated woman. She was also energetic and loved walking, running, dancing, and participating in community service. She enjoyed traveling, fishing, reading, knitting, and most of all, spending time with her grandchildren. Lori is survived by her husband, John B. Flemm of Olympia; sons, Michael Flemm and Nicolas Flemm, both of Olympia; two grandchildren; father, Joseph Albert of Canton, OH; and brother, Matt Albert of Oxford, NC.
