"You love me, you hate me, but you'll never forget me." DDP The first time I ever heard Doug say those words, it never crossed my mind how right he was. In the twelve years that we shared we met a lot of people. I'm pretty sure that if it was possible to contact them, most would tell you something that Doug had said or done that stuck with them. I first met Doug in the beginning of April 2001. We started dating April 30th. We were married on March 11th, 2013. The way that we were married was one of Doug's favorite stories to share. I was working at Best Western in Robinson, IL at the time. I was supposed to have the day off for our wedding, but I was called in at the last second. At 3:00plm Doug called me from our preacher's house. Both phones were put on speaker and that's how we said our vows. When our daughter Marie was born he was so happy. Yet at the same time I could see guilt, fear, and grief in his eyes. He was depressed because he thought of his first children, Ashley, Dustin, Shyanne, and Brittany. He felt guilty that he gave up his rights to them, but his mind was not stable enough to raise them correctly. The fear was the hardest for him to handle. He was so afraid that they would hate him. At least Ashley and Dustin helped him overcome that fear. The last four years were the hardest for us. His friend Ogre (R.I.P. Jim Hamblin) passed away, then my mother (Always in our hearts Mom) and Grandmother (your hugs made everything easier to handle). Then Doug's mom passed and I think that his depression got really bad, he just hid it from all of us. Though he is gone I will never forget his take on dying "Heaven don't want me and Hell is afraid I'll take over. Mwahahahahaha." Everything was a joke to him, until it became serious that is. We all miss you greatly. Children Ashley, Dustin, Brittany Shyanne Marie Street Children Jessi, Joey, and Andrew "Bobble-Head" Carter Justin "Monkey" Garcia Jessi, Damien, and Jackal Siblings Robin, Lisa, and Alan Nieces and Nephews Travis, Tyler, and Tanner Haley and Jesus (Great-Nephew) Peyton and Sophia Luke "Love you forever and always." "Forever is as far as I'll go." It would be greatly appreciated if you would share at least one moment that you shared with Doug. We all know that he could be as stubborn as a mule, but he would willingly give you the shirt off his back. Thanks, Charity Anne Pitney
