Championship Golfer, Mother, Sister, Daughter and Friend Lorene Ione Atkinson-James, 88 years old, passed over on April 9, 2013 in Morrison, Colorado. Born April 17, 1925 in Greeley, Colorado, Lorene was one of four siblings. She is survived by two children, Michael James and Cynthia James, four grandchildren: Michael James, Matthew James, Michelle Turner and Joseph Batista, and six great grandchildren. Lorene met and married Will M. James at the University of Colorado. They had two children and lived in Jefferson County, Colorado. Lorene’s profession was playing gold and she enjoyed every minute of it. She was a very accomplished championship golfer, winning many tournaments throughout Colorado. Lorene was also a loving mother and friend. She is well respected for her guidance and patience. Lorene’s presence will be missed and she will always be loved. She leaves wonderful memories and laughter in thought.
