Obituary Verdis Pennington, Jr., 50, of Lexington and husband of Angela Gale Pennington, died Tuesday, November 30, 2010. He was born in Danville, Kentucky, on October 10, 1960, to Caroline and Verdis Pennington, Sr. Verdis was an All American wrestler and graduate of Tates Creek HS (Class of 78). He also won numerous bodybuilding titles including Mr. Kentucky 1990: Novice Division. In addition to his wife and parents, he is survived by his children, Verdis III, Vallis, Varon, and Priscilla Pennington; Stepson, Josh Holcomb; sister, Tammy (Jeff) Vance; brother, Tommy (Zora) Pennington; brother-in-law, Mike Coyle; aunts, Jessie (Glen) Dean and Shelby (Ray) Bertram; uncles, Tommy E. Walls, Clearence Walls, Jr., Stanley Pennington, Jr., Ronald Pennington and Chester Vickery; nieces, Savannah C. Pennington, Breannah S. Pennington and Andrea Bailey; nephews, Michael, Mark, Matthew and Mitchell Coyle and Daniel Bailey; and many loving friends. Verdis was preceded in death by James M. Walls, Martha Vickery and Lou Roselle. Funeral Information Visitation will be 6-8 pm, Monday, December 6 at Clark Legacy Center in Brannon Crossing. Burial will take place at 12 pm, Tuesday, December 7 at Bluegrass Memorial Gardens in Nicholasvile, Kentucky. Casketbearers: Mark Coyle, Matthew Coyle, Mike Coyle, Daniel Lungsford, Charlie Martin and Scott Greiner. Honorary Casketbearers: Michael Coyle and Mitchell Coyle.
