Leonard D. Huffmire, 89, of Venice, FL formerly of Massapequa, NY passed away December 4, 2018. Leonard was born November 26, 1929 in Brooklyn, NY. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Marion, son Leonard D. Huffmire, Jr (Cynthia); daughters Elizabeth Miastkowski (John) and Carolyn Slawski (Paul); brother Edgar Huffmire (Barbara); six grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. Leonard worked as a heavy equipment mechanic for 38 years with Hendrickson Brother's in Valley Stream, NY, served with the United States Navy SeaBees from 1950 to 1954, was a past master of Lynbrook-Massapequa Masonic Lodge, past commander of the Jones Beach Power Squadron and he received his fellowship jacket from the Loyal Order of the Moose Venice Lodge #1308. A visitation will be held for Leonard on Friday, December 7, 2018 from 5:00 to 7:00 pm at the Farley Funeral Home Venice Chapel, 265 South Nokomis Avenue, Venice, Fl 34285. Interment will be held on Friday, March 8, 2019 at 12:00 pm at Sarasota National Cemetery.
