Elizabeth Turner
October 29th, 2017
Elizabeth Ann Frieswyk was born November 1, 1932 in Northbridge, Worcester County, MA. Daughter of the late Carl and Hilda (Van der Klok) Frieswyk. After graduating from Whitinsville High School, ""Betty-Ann"" moved to Boston and attended a nursing program at Newton Wellesley Hospital. On September 15, 1953, she married Philip M. Turner, son of the late Edgar and Hilma (Mason) Turner of Wellesley, MA. In 1961, ""Liz"" and ""Phil"" moved to Weston, MA where they lived for more than 30 years while raising their five children. Elizabeth was a loving and dedicated wife, mother, daughter, and friend. She was an active member of the First Baptist Church of Weston, American Cancer Society and other charitable organizations. She loved to laugh, enjoyed simple adventures with her friends and family, and had a special talent for welcoming people into her home. Elizabeth and her husband moved to Duxbury, MA in 1993 where they had summered since 1973. In 2015 Elizabeth moved to Florida in order to spend her final years in a warmer climate and being close to her daughter and daughter's family. Despite the impacts of dementia that Elizabeth contended with during the later stages of her life, her personality continued to shine through and she continued to have a positive impact on her family and those around who helped in providing her such good care. In addition to her husband, she is predeceased by her brother Richard D. Frieswyk. She leaves her children, Michael & Mary Turner of Roanoke, VA, Deborah & Jim Steranko of Nokomis, FL, Stephen & Rachel Turner of Hudson, MA, David & Kathy Turner of Woodstock, CT, James & Maria Turner of Uxbridge, MA, her in-laws Pauly & Fred Spencer, Nancy Frieswyk, along with 16 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
