Online Obituaries for Frankfort, KY FRANKFORT- Lawrence Thomas "Tom" Rice, Jr., 86, passed away peacefully in his sleep on Friday, April 17, 2015. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Geraldine Scott Rice. A native of Frankfort, he was born on April 6, 1929 to the late Amy Johnson Rice and Lawrence Thomas Rice, Sr. He was the seventh child of 11: Otis, Marie, Pete, Geneva, Esther, Henrietta, Tom, John, Bill, Bob and Rebecca. His love of family brought him joy throughout his entire life and will continue to comfort his family during their lives. Mr. Rice was retired from IBM and a Veteran of the United States Air Force, having served in the Korean War. He is survived by his son, Alan Scott Rice, Sr., Lawrenceburg; his daughter, Amy (Donald) Renfrow, Lexington; his sister, Henrietta Stivers, Frankfort; his brother, Bobby (Juanita) Rice, Frankfort; his grandchildren, Alan Rice, Jr., Carla Rice, Sara Renfrow ; his great grandchildren, Stella, Ren and Adelaide; numerous nieces and nephews, his best friend of 80 years, Gippy Graham, and his dog, Roger. Funeral Information Visitation will be 6-8pm, Monday, April 20, 2015 at Clark Legacy Center, 3000 Versailles Rd., Frankfort, KY. Funeral Services will be 11am Tuesday, April 21, 2015 at Clark Legacy Center. Burial will follow at Frankfort Cemetery.
