Husband of four decades, father, grandfather, brother and friend, Timmy Lee ""Tim"" Jacob, was called home on Oct. 24. Something must have been very broken in Heaven to need him so soon. Tim was born Oct. 18, 1954, in St. Louis, second son of Homer and Lois Jacob. His siblings include older brother Coy, younger brother Keith and sisters Kelly and Kim. Tim met his soul mate in St. Louis. Tim and Susan L. ""Sue"" Presley were married on May 11, 1974 and recently celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary. Together they built a life and family. Tim and Sue have two boys, Ryan Michael and Chad William. He was a proud grandfather of his son Ryan and fiancé Jen's children, Kenny and Ally, and son Chad and daughter-in-law Chelsie's children Addison and Ava. Tim was a devoted family man. In addition to his enduring love of Sue and his children, he relished time away from business enjoying the company of family, boating and giving tours of his beloved freshwater canals. Tim's mechanical abilities, work ethic and aptitude for entrepreneurship were already in place when he graduated in 1973 from Lutheran South High School and joined Jacob Automotive with his father and Uncle Forrest. Tim, Sue and the kids moved to Venice, Florida in 1984. There, Tim's business skills broadened and he came into his own as an entrepreneur. Tim first opened Gulf Breeze Boutique in 1984. Throughout the next 30 years, he would open KJ Enterprises, Petite Pet Shop, RV's To-Go, Truck Toys and 5-Star Restaurant Equipment. (He also owned Rent-A-Wreck, which he likely wouldn't have mentioned here if he had written this himself.) Sue and the boys joined him in these enterprises, and would grow with him and into their own through the years. He was a worker and business owner, but he was much more, too. He was a collector. Tim loved M&M and Shell Oil memorabilia, boats, model cars, real cars and classic cars. And, he loved a bargain. Probably more than Sue did. Tim was a collector of people as well. Throughout 60 years he built long and close friendships in St. Louis, Venice, at the lake and in parts far and wide. He was a fighter. He conquered business cycles and battled cancer; adversity made him stronger and drew him closer. And, he never fought alone. He never had to. It was easy to love Tim. His willingness to give unconditionally, work tirelessly, offer guidance and support when needed, and lend a hand in times of difficulty (or just when he could see you needed it) was boundless. He was a quiet soul with a mischievous smile and a dry wit - which even when directed at you, made you smile too. Tim had a heart large enough to carry his world. He didn't easily verbalize his love of family and friends, but his deep blue eyes, charming smile and unending capacity for generosity, spoke more than words could begin to express. Tim leaves behind his loving wife Sue and boys Ryan and Chad. He leaves behind brothers, sisters, sister-in-law Valerie Klebolt and her husband Joe, and countless neighbors, friends and business associates. He leaves behind for us the benefit of a life's-work and fond memories of times spend with him - sharing, growing, working and playing. He was called home too soon. Whatever was broken in Heaven, it must have required Tim's MacGyver bag and been something only he could fix. We can all take comfort in our own journey, that when we see him again, the tools will all be in the right place. God speed Tim. Memorials in Tim's name can be sent to the American Cancer Society or the H. Lee Moffitt Cancer Center & Research Institute.
