John (Cork) Jorgensen was born April 10, 1948 in Seattle, WA to Edith Antonsen and Norman Jorgensen.A real outdoors boy, Cork went to Alaska with his family as a baby and every year after until he joined the Army. After the Army, his love for Alaska and the fishing industry brought him back to a career as a machinist in the fishing industry. After many years, he decided to move home to Seattle where he started work and retired from the Seattle Times as a machinist. A true charmer and most loving and caring man you could ever hope to meet.Cork met Ellen in 1993 and they were married on June 1, 1996 and moved directly to Alaska. The dream of his life, even while they experienced some rough waters, their love for each other never ended. Although the move only lasted 18 months, the love for their families brought them back to Seattle. Cork lived his life to the fullest and never stopped even when Alzheimers disease knocked on his door, he met it with an attitude to grab as much life as he could while he could and that he did.Cork is survived by his wife Ellen, who never gave up and traveled the journey with him until he was tired and ready to go home. He is also survived by his three sons: Todd, Shane and Troy; as well as his three step-children: Sean, Adam (Negar), and Erinn; and his beloved 12 grandchildren: Sheanne, Mia, Brayden, Sadie, Sena, Lucy, Sammy, Chance, Christopher, Cole, Peyton, and Zoe.We will miss his wonde smile and zest for life, his love for family and the wonde joy he brought to anyone he knew or met along the way.
