Metz, Lt. Colonel Daniel Alfred (11/19/24-7/20/10) He was born and grew up in Missouri and enjoyed retirement in Florida since 1989. Lt. Colonel Metz served our country through the U. S. Air Force, the Air National Guard, and the Army Air Force. He was recognized for duty in World War II and the Vietnam War. He was a member of the American Legion, Retired Officers Association, and the Knights of Columbus. He volunteered for several local activities. He will be missed by all who knew him, but especially by his life partner of 60 years, Patricia A. Metz; his four daughters, Pamela, Lynnaia, Kimberly, and Sharon, his nine grandchildren, several great grandchildren, a sister and a brother, Carolyn and Robert, many other family members, and friends. A Mass of Christian Burial to celebrate his life will be held at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, Venice, FL on Monday, July 26, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. A military honors ceremony will take place at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, FL on Monday, July 26, 2010 at 2:30 p.m.
