Jesse Thompson Blue, 50, the husband of Chanel Denice Blue, departed this life on Sunday, October 2, 2022, at the Lexington Kentucky Veterans Affairs Medical Center. A native of Newburg, Missouri, he was the son of the late Wesley A. Blue and Linda K. Reando. He regularly attended Consolidated Baptist Church and was a man of God. He leaves to cherish his memory a devoted wife and partner of one and half years, three children, Neshiya James, Benjamin Blue, and Spencer Blue, four siblings, Paul Blue, Billy Horn, Bobby Horn, and Eric Blue. He leaves behind nieces, nephews, cousins, other loving relatives, and friends. He served in the United States Army where he served his country proudly. He obtained his bachelor’s degree at Missouri State University, Springfield Missouri and his master’s degree in Social Work from Asbury University, Wilmore, Kentucky. Jesse was employed at the Lexington Veteran Affairs Medical Center for 10 years. He dedicated his life to serving our nation’s Veterans by helping them heal and offering them hope through education and empowerment. He loved to ride his Harley Davidson Street glide, enjoyed traveling, spending time with family and friends, and loved to laugh. He was a dedicated father, husband, and friend. He never met a stranger. His family and friends will always remember him “smiling and having a heart of gold.” He knew what heartache was and devoted his life treating others with unconditional respect and love. His legacy will forever live in the lives of the many individuals. In the words of Jesse T. Blue- “Be good to one another. Love a lot. Laugh a lot. Have fun in life and make memories. Don’t sweat the small stuff. Hum just because. But most importantly live life like there’s no tomorrow.
