Paul Bennett Lewis, 74, peacefully left earth for his heavenly home on Oct 19, 2022, surrounded by his family. Paul was born in Kuttawa, Kentucky and he grew up in Springfield, Illinois and Lexington, Kentucky. Paul retired from Rainbo Baking Company. He had previously worked as a fry cook at Parkette #2 on Georgetown Road. He was a graduate of Henry Clay High School where he was a member of ROTC. He enjoyed riding motorcycles; he previously was a member of the Easy Rider Motorcycle Club and was known as "Baby Huey". He was preceded in death by his parents, Helen Ruth and James Paul Lewis; and brother, Danny Lewis. Paul is survived by his two children; son, Virgil (Crystal) Lewis; and daughter, Susan (Melvin Lee) Kelley, both of Lexington; grandchildren, Amberlee Kelley of Frankfort, Virgil Charles Lewis, Zachary Lewis, Trey Mitchell, all of Lexington, and Torri (Isaac) Shelton of Harrodsburg; and two great grandchildren Finley Branch and Colson Shelton. He is also survived by two sisters, Rita Filson of Springfield, IL and Angie Lewis (Jim) Hatfield of Orange City, FL; and a host of nieces and nephews. Visitation will be 12-2pm Sunday, October 23, 2022, at Clark Legacy Center, Brannon Crossing, with the funeral service to begin at 2pm. A private burial will be held by the family at a later date. Honorary pallbearers will be Virgil W. Lewis, Virgil C. Lewis, Zachary Lewis, Melvin L. Kelley, Isaac Shelton, CJ Hartman, John L. Fitch, and Trey Mitchell. The family would like to thank John L. Fitch for his friendship, love, and support. And the nurses, doctors and staff of the 2nd floor ICU Baptist Healthcare, Lexington, KY, especially Amanda.
