Ernest J. Steier of North Port, FL passed away May 15, 2010. Ernest was born February 20, 1930 in Chicago, Il. Ernest valiantly served in the Korean Conflict from 1948 – 1952. Ernest married the love of his life Joyce Johnson and moved to St Petersburg Florida in 1978. They moved to North Port in 2001. Ernest was an avid sportsman who loved shooting, archery and martial arts. He obtained a 4th Dan in Kodokan Judo and competed internationally. He was a small airplane pilot, scuba diver, a world traveler and an inventor holding a U.S. patent. Ernest loved his family and all types of dogs. Ernest’s surviving family members include, His beloved wife Joyce, Son Brian, Daughter in Law Virginia, Grandsons’ Cody and Nathan and Granddaughter Kylie. Ernest also leaves behind his beloved dog, Bosco.
