Brian E. Baker, a compassionate soul who touched the lives of many, passed away on Memorial Day, Monday, May 29, 2023, in Hendersonville, TN. Born on January 19, 1971, in Lexington, Kentucky, Brian was the beloved son of Carl and Deborah Baker. A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, June 8, 2023, at the Clark Legacy Center, located at 601 East Brannon Road, Nicholasville, KY. The procession and burial will take place at Camp Nelson in Nicholasville, KY, followed by a heartfelt Celebration of Life at Clark Legacy Center. All who knew Brian are cordially invited to attend and join in celebrating the cherished memories of his life, his essence, and the immense impact he had on all of us. Brian proudly served his country in the United States Air Force for four years, from 1990 to 1994, where he dutifully fulfilled the role of a combat medic. In 2000, Brian graduated from the University of Kentucky School of Nursing, fueling his passion for the medical field and his unwavering dedication to helping others. In 2017, he earned his Masters Degree in Nursing Education, further solidifying his commitment to enhancing healthcare practices. Brian's career path led him to serve as a flight nurse for 14 years and subsequently as a Nurse Educator for six years. He made significant contributions to the field and held two separate appointments on the Board for the Data and Education committee for the Kentucky Board of Emergency Medical Services, a role he embraced with great pride and devotion to the EMS community. Brian lived life to the fullest, embracing joy, laughter, and the beauty of the outdoors. He had a natural talent for bringing smiles to people's faces and creating precious memories. Whether he was casting a line in a serene lake, relaxing on the beach with a fishing rod in hand, or camping surrounded by his beloved family, Brian found solace and happiness in these simple yet profound moments. He is survived by his loving wife, Lynne Jones Baker of Hendersonville, TN, and his two children, his daughter Rebekah Baker, future son-in-law Zane Cordingly, and his son Alex Baker, all residing in Lexington, KY. Brian's legacy is carried on by his two grandchildren, Adalynne Baker and Skylar Baker-Lane. He also leaves behind his devoted parents, Reverend Carl and Deborah Baker of Mount Sterling, KY, as well as his brother Chris Baker, accompanied by his wife, Andrea Baker. In addition, he is survived by his sisters Sarah Pannell, married to Nick Pannell of Goshen, KY, and Susan Eloy, married to Kevin Eloy of Centerville, MA, along with numerous nieces and nephews who held a special place in his heart. In honor of Brian's memory, the family kindly requests that contributions be made to Camp Hero Kentucky, an organization close to his heart. Brian's presence in our lives will be deeply missed, but his spirit will forever remain etched in our hearts and cherished through the memories we shared. campheroky.org
