Suzanne Fishering Carl passed away on June 12th in Lexington, KY. Born in Ft. Wayne, Indiana, she graduated from the University of Colorado Boulder. After college, she moved to Lexington where she taught school for several years and then was a homemaker and raised a family. Preceded in death by her husband, William Carl, she is survived by her four daughters, Molly (John) Thomas, Betsy Strong, Jennie (Tom) Carl-Howard, DVM and Sarah (Mark) Monell. She is also survived by eight grandchildren, Emily Giancarlo, Lucy Thomas, Sarah Wells, Maggie Blanton, Lesley Hager, Isaac Monell, Andrew Monell, Rachel Monell and three great-granddaughters, Evie Giancarlo, Mae Giancarlo, Maren Wells. She was an active member of Second Presbyterian Church and participated in many charitable and social activities throughout her life. Visitation will be at 2pm on Friday, June 23rd at Second Presbyterian Church, 460 East Main Street, Lexington with a memorial service to follow at 3pm. The family requests no flowers. Memorial gifts are suggested to Dementia Society of America www.dementiasociety.org or Second Presbyterian Church www.2preslex.org.
