Edward Harrison Moore, 72, husband of Billie Ford Moore, died peacefully, Monday, June 19th, 2023, at Saint Joseph Hospital. Born in Lexington, KY, he was the son of the late Eddie B. Moore and Hettie Eaves Moore. Ed attended the University of Kentucky and Southeastern Christian College. He was a Firefighter with the LFUCG for more than 20 years, from 1974 to 1996. He also worked for Sears, from which he retired. Post retirement, he worked at Lowe’s and Enterprise for many years. Ed was an avid UK sports fan and enjoyed golfing, horseracing, gaming, cooking, and watching Andy Griffith. He frequently met with his other retired buddies on weekdays to have lunch and reminisce; Ed was an excellent storyteller. He prioritized spending time with his family and friends, especially his son-in-law, Charlie. Ed was always ready for a good time and would greet everyone with a big hug and smile. In addition to his wife, Billie, of 52 years, survivors include daughter Ginger (Charlie) Stallcup of Nicholasville, and his beloved dogs and “grand dogs,” whom he loved to spoil. Ed requested that we celebrate his life well lived. His Celebration of Life will be held at Clark Legacy Center, Brannon Crossing on Friday, June 30th, 2023, from 4:00pm - 8:00pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may go to The American Cancer Society or The Lexington Humane Society.
