Karen Virginia DeLeo, the wife of Robert Doyle DeLeo, passed away on November 15, 2018 in Lynnwood, Washington. She was born September 4, 1933 in Port Angeles, Washington to Wendell and Virginia Johnson. Her family moved to Ellensburg, Washington where she worked at the local movie theater and graduated from Ellensburg High School in 1951. She attended Central Washington College before she met her husband in Port Townsend while working at the Chevy Chase golf course. They married on November 22, 1952 at St. James Cathedral Chapel in Seattle, Washington. She was an active parishioner of St. Thomas More Parish in Lynnwood where she was involved with the wedding committee, religious education, handmade banners and altar decorations. She loved to arrange flowers on tables for the funeral reception committee. She had many hobbies which included making handmade clothes for her entire family, handmade dolls with porcelain and sewn clothes, ceramics from her personal kiln, knitted garments and hand painted porcelain figurines. She also worked at a fabric store in Lynnwood while raising her children. She enjoyed bowling, golfing, baking, cooking and shopping. Her greatest achievement was raising their four beautiful children. She is survived by husband, Robert Doyle DeLeo and her children: Roberta (Bruce) Krause, John (Debora) DeLeo, Sheri (Ron) Honeycutt and Michael (Yong) DeLeo. She is also survived by her brother, Barry (Jimmy) Johnson from Ellensburg, Washington; 11 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren. Karen was preceded in death by her parents, Wendell and Virginia Johnson. She was surrounded by her loving family. During her life, she touched countless lives and made everyone around her feel loved. Funeral mass will be held on Monday, November 26, 2018, 11:00 a.m. at St. Thomas More Parish followed by a reception at the church and gravesite service at Holyrood Catholic Cemetery in Seattle. The presiding Priest will be Father Stephen Okumu. Becks Funeral Home in Edmonds, Washington will be coordinating services. In lieu of flowers, kindly donate to St. Vincent de Paul, St. Thomas More Parish at 6511 176th St SW, Lynnwood, WA 98037.
