Kathryn Jane Toy, 92, peacefully passed away in Bellevue November 12, 2018 just 3 days shy of her 93rd birthday. She was born on November 15, 1925 in Seattle to Orrin Chauncey Nelson and Anna Mae Lamb. She grew up and worked in the University District until her marriage to Stewart B Toy on September 15, 1945. She lived most of her adult life in Edmonds and Shoreline. Widowed at 38, she raised 5 daughters through their teens and into adulthood. She was always very close to her siblings and the importance of family was her strength. She is survived by her daughters Kathryn Carrithers (Richard), Jeanne Lawrence (Manny), Nancy Chatagnier, and Barbara Toy (Jeff Roberts), 5 grandchildren, and 8 great-grandchildren She was preceded in death by her husband, Stewart B. Toy, who passed in 1963, her Daughter Margaret Ann Hofman (2016), and siblings Donald Nelson, James Nelson, and Elizabeth Nelson Hurley. She will be deeply missed by all her family. Burial at Holyrood Cemetery December 14, 2018 at a private family graveside ceremony.
