Mardelle Lorraine Lida, 93, of Edmonds, WA, went home to be with our Lord on December 16, 2018. Mardelle was born on October 18, 1925, on a farm near Erskine, Minnesota to Alfred and Tillie Sorum. When she was about 5 years old, the family moved to Duluth, Minnesota, where she grew up and graduated from Central High School in Duluth in 1944. In high school she worked after school in a lawyers' office then went to her second job teaching accordion. In 1950 she moved to Seattle and in 1951 she went to work at the Boeing Company where she worked as a secretary until retiring in 1987, taking several years off when her daughters were young. In 1953 she married Daniel Lida, the love of her life, with whom she raised two daughters, and enjoyed sewing, baking, traveling, Bible study, and, most of all, her family, who miss her greatly. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband Dan Lida. Mardelle is survived by her sister, LaVonne Myers, daughters Terri Severson (Dave), and Linda Davey (Bill); grandchildren: Geoff Hoggard (Melinda), Greg Hoggard (Wendy), Joe Hoggard (Cherie), Aaron Davey (Toni), and Melissa Davey; great grandchildren: Kayleigh Edahl (Andrew), Chase, Averie, Collin, Logan, Nathaniel, Maya, Lia and Torin; and two great-great grandchildren, Violet and Ellie Edahl. A Viewing will be from 10-12noon at Beck's Tribute Center, 405 Fifth Ave. S. in Edmonds on Saturday, December 22. There will be a Graveside service at 2 pm the same day at Evergreen-Washelli Cemetery at 11111 Aurora Ave. N., Seattle. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 29, at 11 a.m. at Maple Park Lutheran Church at 17620 60th Ave. W, Lynnwood, WA, followed by a reception.
