Retired U.S.A.F. Lt. Col. Harry A. Millar went to see the Lord on May 24, 2009. His wife Clara and his faithful sister-in-law Ethel Czerwinski was with Harry almost every day since December 4, 2007 at the Sterling House (Claire Bridge) Assistant Living in Venice. He was known as Handsome Harry by everyone. Harry was born in Pensacola, Florida on March 24, 1917 to Gene & Irene (Presley) Millar. He is survived by his wife of 18 years, Clara of Venice; three stepchildren, Patricia (John) Twigg & Kathleen Brown both from Dunlop, Tennessee, William (D.J.) Lane of Oshkosh, Wisconsin.; three sister-in-laws, Ethel Czerwinski, Marie Millar of Hesperia, California and Eileen Millar of Mesquite, Texas. He also leaves behind three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his stepson, Richard Lane and two brothers, Gene & Charles Millar. Harry was in the Air Force for 24 years. He was co-founder & Governor of the Quiet Birdman VNC Hanger from October 1981 to December 1990. He belonged to the American Legion, Elks, Kiwanis and M.O.A.A. all in Venice. He belonged to the Dadalins at the MacDill A.F.B. in Tampa. He started Executive Airlines in Boston & Sarasota many years ago.
