John A. Campbell, age 89, of Venice, Florida, passed away on May 18, 2009. He was born on March 18, 1920 in Dividing Creek, New Jersey. He was a Chief Petty Officer with the United States Navy serving during World War II, the Korean War and retired in 1961. He moved to Venice in 2000 from North Chicago, Illinois. He is survived by his daughter, Rabbi Ann Campbell White of St. Petersburg, Florida and sons, John Brandon Campbell of Sheboygan, Wisconsin and William Hanners Campbell of Beach Park, Illinois. He also leaves behind five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at 11:00AM on Thursday, May 21, 2009 at the Unity Church of Venice on Jackson Road. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to TideWell Hospice & Palliative Care, 5955 Rand Blvd., Sarasota, Florida 34238. Farley Funeral Home in Venice is handling the arrangements.
