Dorothy “Dot” M. Sauer, 79, Venice, FL died May 1, 2009. She was born January 12, 1930 in Indianapolis, IN and came to Venice in 1972. Dot worked for the Sarasota County School Board as a bus driver for special needs children. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bob Sauer in March of 2009. Survivors include children: Joseph (Linda) Sauer of North Port, Paul Sauer of Venice, Bill Sauer of Venice, Dennis Sauer (Karen George) of North Port, Linda (Rick) Coble of North Port and Pattie (John) Herb of Lehigh Acres, FL; 10 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; two sisters: Marge Ruth of Indianapolis, IN and Catherine Torma of Ivyland, PA and brother-in-law, David Fisher of North Port. Visitation will be held from 4-6 PM, Wednesday, May 6 at Farley Funeral Home, Venice Chapel. Funeral will begin from Farley Funeral Home, Venice Chapel at 9 AM, Thursday, May 7 with a Mass of Christian Burial being celebrated at 11 AM at St. Raphael’s Catholic Church in Englewood. Burial immediately following at Venice Memorial Gardens.
