L. James Whelan, age 83, of Venice, Florida, passed away on . He was born on in New Haven, Connecticut. He moved to Venice nine years ago from East Haven, Connecticut. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Mary Lou; four sons, Leo of Branford, Connecticut, Tim of Gaithersburg, Maryland, Larry of Mahopac, New York, John of Wichita, Kansas and a sister, Lois Judge of Norwood, Massachusetts. He also leaves behind four grandchildren, Maura, Tim, Kaitlin and Kelsey. Funeral services and burial will be held in North Haven, Connecticut.
