George S. Gafkowski, 60, of North Port, Florida passed away Tuesday February 3, 2009. Mr. Gafkowski was born on April 19, 1948 in Manhattan, New York to Chester and Marie (Kaminowski) Gafkowski. He moved to North Port 17 years ago coming from Ossining, NY. Mr. Gafkowski was owner of Happ Inc. in North Port, a veteran of Vietnam serving with the U.S. Army and of the Catholic Faith. He is survived by his daughter, Lauren Gafkowski of North Port; son, Michael Gafkowski of Manhattan, NY; sisters, Anne Wenner of CO; Marlene Dine of NJ; Darlene White of NJ; Christine Pellegrino of NY; brothers, Chester and Edward Gafkowski both of NY and Charlie Gafkowski of PA; his granddaughter, Claira-Jean Gafkowski of Manhattan, NY.
