Susan J. Riley, age 61, of Venice, Florida, joined her husband James R Riley in the Kingdom of the Lord on Sunday, January 18, 2009. Sue was born on October 3, 1947 in Trenton, New Jersey and grew up in Morrisville, Pa. She moved to Lake Wales, Fl in 1974 and resided there until 2002 when she moved to Venice, Fl. She was a devoted employee of Lemon Bay Drugs in North Port since 2003. As a member of the First Church of God in South Venice, Sue was involved with the library, mentoring programs and loved to give her testimony. Susan’s most cherished times was spent with her grandchildren. She was also active with various cross stitching groups and book clubs, the Children’s Miracle Network, Deborah Hospital and she also helped adults in Lake Wales learn how to read. She is survived by her parents, Donald & Dorothy Fernandez of Englewood, Florida; daughter, Vicki (Troy) Mackey of Venice; a brother, George “Brub” (Suzan) Woolverton of Valrico, Florida; sisters, Donna (David) Wilson of Morrisville, Pennsylvania, Joyce (Sam) Parrett of Nokomis; in-laws, Cece Woolverton, Robin (Tom) Roach, Pat Andre, Petey (Steve) Chambers, Karen (Mike) Kelch and Larry Riley; three grandchildren, Paul, Riley and Sara. She also leaves behind an abundant amount of cherished nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, January 24, 2009 at the First Church of God South Venice. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Sonshine Learning Center, 351 Orange Road, Venice, Florida 34293 to establish the Susan J Riley Library for the children.
