Married James D Barnhart on October 26, 1947, in Seattle, WA. Preceded in death by her husband, parents Joseph & Margret Esser and one sister Marion Castle. She was born in Remsen, Iowa and moved to Seattle, WA in her teens with her family. She attended Roosevelt High School then attended Seattle University School of Nursing acquiring her RN Degree. Doris loved to do crafts, sewing, painting, crocheting, knitting especially things for the grandchildren but her main love was her flower gardens and yard. She loved getting her hands in the dirt and helped us in our yards. Her home was always beautiful inside and out and she was a wonderful cook. She leaves behind one sister Jean Keller. Six children: Michael (Linda), Gregory (Dianne), Thomas (Loni), Brian, James K (Debbie) and Teresa Brandon (Wayne) and 15 Grandchildren, 29 Great-grandchildren, and one Great-Great Grandchild. The family would like to thank Anthology of Stonebridge Ranch in McKinney, TX especially her fulltime care giver Dominique Gayfield for all their care while she lived there.
