Bobby "Bob" Tollett

Sep 25, 1932 — Oct 30, 2026

Bobby “Bob” Tollett, 94 years young, passed away on Friday evening, October 30, 2026, at his home in Jackson, California. Bob endured many health challenges in his later years, but he passed peacefully with his beloved wife, Sharon, by his bedside.

Bob was born at home on September 25, 1932, in Costa Mesa, California, during the Great Depression. Although times were hard in America, Bob recalled many happy memories of growing up with his family.

Shortly after Bob was born, the family moved to Bakersfield, where his father found work in the cotton fields. Eventually, the family moved to Northern California. Bob learned early on the ethics of hard work, dedication, and, above all, the importance of family.

During the Korean War, Bob joined the Navy and served honorably for four years. Following his military service, he returned home to Amador County, where he was introduced to Sharon Lauermann. They married shortly thereafter and shared 71 wonderful years together, through both happy and difficult times, always loving and supporting one another.

Together, they raised two beautiful children, Debra (Debbie) and Robert (Bob).

Bob was preceded in death by his daughter, Debra, and other loved ones who remained in his heart forever. He leaves behind his beloved wife, Sharon; his son, Robert (Kevin); and a large extended family who will forever cherish his memory.

His grandchildren include Desiree (Logan), Jake (Molly), Josh (Donny), Evan (Samantha), and Joe (Melissa). He was also blessed with great-grandchildren Mikel (Trevor), Mikey, Taylor, Cayden, Jackson and Josie, as well as great-great-grandchildren Hunter, Sage, and Tulee.

Many people brought joy and happiness to Bob’s life, and Bob brought that same joy and happiness to his family and dear friends.

His life was always a testament to commitment and, above all, love of family. His wife, Sharon, says, “Bob never said a harsh word about anyone.”

For many years, Bob hauled logs in his logging truck to the old mill in Martell. He later went on to build several lovely homes for his family.

Bob also worked for Caltrans, eventually serving as a supervisor. He owned and operated the Norwalk gas station in Martell.

He understood the value of hard work, dedication, and providing for those he loved.

A celebration of Bob’s life will be held at Laughton Ranch in Jackson on December 5 at 12 noon. Family and friends are welcome to attend. Please, no flowers.

We are grieving and ask that you pray for us. Bob was such an honorable man, and he was deeply loved.

We will miss him.
