Dwight Hughson Creecy passed away on April 20th, 2026, in Jackson, California.

Dwight was born on January 3rd 1945 in Charleston, SC, and graduated from High School there in 1963. After graduation, Dwight enlisted in the US Air Force and was stationed at Shaw AFB. He was a photo reconnaissance specialist for the RB-66 and RF-4 Phantom 2, stationed at Phù Cát Air Base from 1966-67.

After his military service, he worked for construction companies in the southeastern US and was recruited by Perini Construction as a project manager in California, the highlight of his career being the subterranean construction of the Moscone center in San Francisco.

After moving to Amador County in 1989 Dwight became the owner of Smoke Signals in Angels Camp, where he was adored by his customers and "cronies" for his great sense of humor and relentless spirit.

He is survived by his wife, Nora Coryell, daughter Samantha Creecy

Westberry, stepsons Mason and Damian White, grandchildren Joshua and Justin Groth, Nicole Westberry, Logan, Avery and Henry White and 5 great-grandchildren.

As a veteran himself, Dwight was a strong supporter of veteran groups and charities.
