Floyd Robert Martin, a resident of Pioneer, California, passed away on Wednesday, March 11, 2026, at the age of 82. He was born on November 6, 1943, in Battle Creek, Michigan. Floyd dedicated his life to his family, his country, and his work.

Floyd served his country with honor as a veteran before embarking on a long and successful career as a salesman in the beverage industry, where he worked for 32 years. For the last 13 years before retiring, he served as Amador County’s Veterans Service Officer. His commitment and dedication to helping others were a testament to his strong work ethic and perseverance.

On September 5, 1964, Floyd married Mary, and together they shared 62 wonderful years of marriage. He is survived by his beloved wife, Mary; daughters Amanda (Dan) Mondani and Robyn (Aaron) Scalise; and granddaughters McKayla (Clay) Ritts, Alyssa (DJ) Ogden, Riley Scalise, and Addison Scalise. Floyd is also survived by his sister Donna, his brother Ron, and many extended family members. He was preceded in death by his brother, Larry Martin.

Floyd’s life was marked by the love and support of his family, and he leaves behind cherished memories for them and for all who knew him. His presence will be greatly missed, and his legacy will continue to be celebrated by those fortunate enough to have been part of his life.

Floyd was deeply dedicated to serving his community throughout his life. He was one of the founders of Pioneer Park and one of the original volunteers for the Pioneer Volunteer Fire Department. He spent many years coaching Little League and girls’ softball, touching the lives of countless young athletes.

However, his greatest passion was serving veterans and supporting the American Legion, where he devoted much of his time and energy to helping fellow servicemen and women receive the respect, support, and assistance they deserved.

Friends and family are invited to attend a funeral service Wed. March 18, 2026, 11:00 AM at Daneri Mortuary in Jackson.
