Lewis George Robinson

Lewis George Robinson, a devoted educator, coach, athlete, and family man, passed away on March 29, 2026, at the age of 86.

Born on August 20, 1939, in Bernalillo, New Mexico, Lewis dedicated his life to education and the success of his students. He began his teaching career in 1963 in Riverside, California, and later taught at Banning High School, where he also coached Freshman Football and Varsity Track and Field. In 1972, he became Vice Principal at Amador High School but soon returned to the classroom, teaching at Jackson High School before rejoining Amador as a teacher.

Throughout his career, he taught History, Government, and Advanced Placement Government, inspiring generations of students. At Amador, he also coached Track and Field, Girls Basketball, and the Academic Decathlon. His proudest achievement was leading the Academic Decathlon team to a State Championship.

Lewis retired from teaching in 1994 after more than 30 years of service.

An accomplished athlete, Lewis played softball, basketball, and golf throughout Amador County. While attending California Baptist College, he competed in Track and Field and Basketball and was inducted into the CBU Athletics Hall of Fame in 1984.

He was predeceased by his spouse, Victoria Robinson; his parents, Claude and Margaret Robinson; and his brothers, James and Max Robinson.

He is survived by his sons, Paul (Grace) and Matthew (Katie); grandchildren, Joshua (Meagan), Timothy (Brenda), Levi (Celeste), Taylor, and Jerry (Elizabeth); and great-grandchildren, Luke, Alaina, Mason, and Waylen.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on April 11, 2026, at Daneri Mortuary Chapel in Jackson, California, with interment at Biggs Cemetery in Gridley, California.
