Lloyd Beshers

An honorable and dearly loved man went to his heavenly resting place at the grand age of 96. Lloyd Beshers was born at home in Creek County, Oklahoma not far from one of his favorite boyhood stomping grounds, the Cimarron River. He grew up happily with his five siblings in a simple home in the oil fields where his father worked. They bathed in a washtub in the kitchen, ate vegetables from the garden and drank fresh milk from their cow. After high school he volunteered to serve in the air force during the Korean War. He was stationed in the Philippines and Japan. On returning home Lloyd studied at Oklahoma State University, graduating with a BA in Art. Before moving to California in 1963 he taught art in the public school system in Ponca City, Oklahoma. After teaching art in Santa Rosa California, he moved his family to Amador County in 1973 where he taught art at Preston School of Industry in Ione until retirement. Lloyd and his wife Marsha made their home in Drytown for 35 years where you could often find him in his workshop. He enjoyed watching sports and as Marsha would say, “He loved to watch anything with a ball.”

He left behind his loving daughters Robin Beshers (Jonathan), Anita Ferdani (Marty). Grandchildren Jessica Jensen, Christina Jensen, Rebecca Cribbs and Andrew Ferdani. Loving step-daughters Nova Wright (Jon), Stacy Schmidt (Perley) and their children Tom Schmidt, Joshua Wright, Trevor Wright and Cody Schmidt. Lloyd has a blended family of 12 great-grandchildren.

He was a caring, kind and devoted father, grandfather and husband. He loved and was loved by many nieces and nephews.

Lloyd was preceded in death by his wife Marsha Beshers, her grandson Travis Nieto and Lloyd’s five siblings.
